Most people would still benefit from the large-screen Android smartphone that Google Pixel 8 Pro offers and it’s currently back on sale for $749 at Amazon, Best Buy, and Google’s online shop. This offer is not specific to carriers or trade-ins, but it does match the biggest discount we have found for an unlocked model. Although it was released in October of last year, the phone is frequently sold for $799 even though its official retail price is $999. In any case, you’re saving rather more than normal. This pricing is for the 128GB base model; bigger capacity devices are also available for $250 less than their MSRP if you require more space.
However, if you don’t mind parting with an outdated gadget, Google has also increased the trade-in values for several phones when they are used toward a Pixel 8 Pro. For example, you can get a $400 refund if you’re upgrading from a Pixel 6 Pro, and you can get up to $500 back if your Pixel 7 Pro is in good shape. We awarded the Pixel 8 Pro a score of 93. It continues to provide excellent camera performance, a bright 6.7-inch OLED display, and a rather clean version of Android with OS updates guaranteed until October 2030. The screen’s soft glass texture looks and feels good, and it supports a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, which makes scrolling feel fluid. Meanwhile, a few useful AI-based features that don’t require consuming glue help the software: For example, you can use the Magic Editor tool to remove undesired objects from photographs’ backgrounds, and the Audio Magic Eraser feature can remove background noise from films. (You can utilize Magic Editor features on other phones, but unless you purchase a Pixel or pay a subscription, you can only use it ten times monthly.)
